Job SummaryAs a Consulting Architect - Cloud Automation, you will serve as a trusted technical advisor to enterprise customers, translating business requirements into scalable, secure, and resilient cloud architectures. You will provide architectural leadership throughout the full lifecycle—from discovery and solution design to implementation oversight and optimization—ensuring alignment with industry best practices and enterprise standards. This role requires strong customer-facing skills (remote, but could be onsite sometimes), strategic thinking, and the ability to influence technical and executive stakeholders while ensuring successful delivery of modern, automated cloud platforms.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign & implementation of infrastructure-as-code (IaC) solutions using programming languages such as JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or tools such as Terraform, Ansible, SaltStack, Chef, or Puppet.Leverage SOLID principles to the development and enhancement of reusable frameworks, libraries, modules, scripts, templates, CI/CD pipelines.Ensure automation of provisioning, configuration, scaling, and monitoring of cloud infrastructure using VCF, VMware Aria Suite or vCloud Director.Design and oversee integration via APIs between VMware products and various third-party systems and services.Work directly with customers during presales or delivery phase to understand customer needs and define proposals for efficient implementations.Lead and mentor development team(s) including WBS definition, mentoring and reviewing peer’s contribution to ensure customer requirements, quality and best practices are met.Stay current with industry trends and lead internal initiatives in regard to optimizations and enhancements of current solutions, frameworks and processes.Required Qualifications8+ years of experience in cloud integration, customization and automation projectsExpertise in at least one major cloud platform (VMware, AWS, Azure, or GCP).Strong hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC).Proficiency in scripting programming languages (e.g., JavaScript, Python, Bash, PowerShell) or OOP programming languages (C#, Java, NodeJS).Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD).Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).Understanding of networking including network fundamentals (like IP addressing, subnetting, and routing), network devices (such as routers, switches, and firewalls), network protocols (like TCP/IP, UDP, and DNS), and network security principles.Experience working and leading a development team in Agile/Scrum development environments.Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills in multi-national setting.Preferred Qualifications (highly valued)5+ in technical leading/architecture roleExperience and/or certifications in VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) platform and VMware product portfolio.Experience working with customers across the EMEA region.Experience in solution design definitions or adjustments.Why Join UsWork on cutting-edge cloud technologies with a high-performing team and influence solution decisions based on engineering best practices.Work in respectful environment with focus on open communication, team work and opportunities for growth.Competitive compensation, benefits, and a remote-first work culture.
