An established dry bulk owner operator is seeking a commercially driven Chartering Manager to be based in Mumbai, India.This is a hands-on operator role focused on market cargo, emphasizing market execution, contract negotiation, and maximizing voyage profitability in a fast-paced freight environment.Key ResponsibilitiesManage a portfolio of cargo contracts and chartered vessels, ensuring optimal vessel cover and cargo exposure balanceExecute time charter, voyage charter, and COA fixtures in line with commercial strategyDrive freight and hire optimisation to enhance voyage marginsLead charterparty negotiations and finalise commercially sound contract termsPrepare voyage estimates, monitor performance, and manage freight, hire, and claims exposureTrack freight market movements across Handy and Supramax segments to guide positioning decisionsCoordinate closely with operations to maximise utilisation and minimise idle timeBuild and maintain strong relationships with brokers, charterers, traders, and vessel ownersCandidate ProfileMinimum 5 years’ experience in dry bulk chartering within an operator environmentProven ability to manage cargo exposure and chartered tonnageStrong understanding of TC, voyage charter, and COA structuresSolid analytical skills in voyage economicsConfident negotiator with sound commercial judgementExperience in Handy/Supramax markets preferredDegree in Maritime, Shipping, Business, or related discipline
