Basic Information Role Title: Reconciliation Lead Function/Sub-Function/Vertical: Travel Work Location: Mumbai Work Experience: 15+ years About the Team and Role: The team is responsible for managing end-to-end reconciliation, settlement, IATA financial operations, and customer refund activities. The role ensures accuracy, timeliness, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction while minimizing financial and operational risk. This position leads a team, drives process efficiency, and partners closely with internal and external stakeholders. Experience and Skillset: • Strong expertise in reconciliation and settlement, Customer Refund operations • In-depth knowledge of IATA processes (BSP and interline billing) • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills • Strong leadership and people management abilities • High attention to detail and strong control mindset • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills Roles and Responsibilities: Reconciliation & Settlement Operations Lead multi-system transaction reconciliation for accuracy and efficiency. Drive timely settlements per SLAs, contracts, and regulations. Resolve/escalate breaks and discrepancies; mentor on root causes. Monitor and close open items within timelines. Oversee compliant, SLA-driven refund processing. Process Improvement & Controls Identify and drive process optimization/automation opportunities. Develop/maintain SOPs, control frameworks, and documentation. Strengthen internal controls to minimize errors and financial risks. Lead system enhancements and automation initiatives. IATA Operations Lead IATA portal refund submissions to avert losses; track status, share statements with Support/Reconciliation teams, resolve unmatched transactions, and trigger manual refunds. Oversee BSP weekly statement downloads, reviews, validations; coordinate Reconciliation for timely settlements pre-due dates. Manage IATA related audits, queries, and correspondence. Monitor daily Air India Express balances; partner with Finance for prompt fund uploads to sustain ticketing. Risk, Audit & Compliance Identify operational and financial risks and implement mitigation plans Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accounting standards, and IATA policies Support internal and external audits and manage audit findings through resolution Team Leadership Mentor and develop reconciliation, settlement, IATA, and refunds analysts for peak performance. Assign workloads, prioritize tasks, and drive accuracy/productivity targets. Lead performance reviews and targeted training programs.
