Location: OpenMode of Work: Work from Office/Hybrid/WFHExperience: 3+ yearsExperience: 3+ YearsPosition SummaryThe Associate is responsible for performing accounting services (including balance sheet reconciliation and payroll services), assisting with monthly compilation engagements and audit preparation. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:Prepare financial statements and compilation reports (as needed) in a timely manner based on client deadlineDaily bookkeeping, weekly, monthly MIS ReportingGrants accounting, Awards by the Govt. to the NPO ClientsBe responsible for completion of all month-end closing procedures and special projects in a timely manner based on client deadlineSuggest ideas to improve client processes or controls to managers or directorsGL ReviewGood knowledge Grants, pledge etc. entries Review and analyze client internal controlsSelf-review all workpapers, financial statements, and any other relevant documents before submission to manager or director for further reviewLook for opportunities to provide additional services to clientsMinimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field preferred2+ years progressive accounting experience in public accounting or similar work environmentStrong organization, verbal, and written communication skillsAbility to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneouslyStrong computer aptitude, which includes expertise with Microsoft Excel and Word as well as proficiency with all accounting software necessary for performing your assignments (including but not limited to QuickBooks Online)Analytical skills with particular attention to detailWhy AKM?AKM Global is a premier professional services firm, with specialization in tax, consulting and co-sourcing services.
