This role is centered on building UI components, client-side logic, styling systems, and performance-optimized pages on AEM as a Cloud Service. This is not a management, or coordination role. Success in this position is measured by code quality, thought leadership in best practices, UI accuracy, accessibility compliance, performance metrics, and production stability. What You Will Do (Daily Hands-On Work) Write and maintain front-end code every day for AEM Cloud Applications/Sites. Build and enhance AEM front-end components, dialogs, and client libraries. Implement UI behavior using JavaScript / TypeScript integrated with AEM components. Apply advanced CSS Grid, Flexbox, and responsive layout systems to deliver pixel-perfect designs. Actively tune page performance using Lighthouse and Core Web Vitals (LCP, CLS, INP). Implement and fix WCAG 2.1 / 2.2 AA accessibility issues directly in UI code. Develop and deploy AEM Cloud App Builder extensions with a strong front-end/UI focus. Integrate analytics, personalization, and tag management code into front-end experiences. Debug UI defects, resolve production issues, and support releases. Required Skills – Front-End Execution Focus AEM Cloud (Front-End Focus) 8+ years of hands-on AEM development, primarily focused on front-end/UI layers. Daily experience working with: AEM components and templates Client libraries and front-end build pipelines Dialogs and front-end integrations Hands-on experience building AEM Cloud App Builder extensions. Experience consuming APIs (REST / GraphQL) from the front end. Modern Front-End Development Advanced, hands-on proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript. Strong real-world experience with React, Angular, or Vue (React preferred). Solid experience with Node.js, npm/yarn, and front-end tooling (Webpack, Vite, Babel). Experience integrating SPAs or micro-frontends into AEM Cloud. Accessibility – Code-Level Ownership Hands-on experience implementing WCAG 2.1 / 2.2 AA requirements in UI code. Proven ability to: Write semantic, accessible HTML Implement ARIA patterns correctly Handle keyboard navigation and focus states Validate with screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver) Experience remediating accessibility issues found via audits and testing. Performance Optimization – Hands-On Proven experience tuning front-end performance using: Lighthouse Core Web Vitals Hands-on optimization of: JavaScript bundles and execution CSS delivery (critical CSS, code splitting) Images, fonts, and asset loading Experience optimizing UI performance in AEM Cloud + CDN environments. Advanced CSS & Layout Systems Expert-level hands-on knowledge of: CSS Grid Flexbox Responsive and fluid layouts Experience implementing scalable CSS systems: BEM / ITCSS / OOCSS CSS Modules or utility-first frameworks (Tailwind) Strong cross-browser debugging and responsive testing skills. Strong Plus – Front-End Integrations Hands-on integration experience with: Adobe Target and/or Optimizely Adobe Analytics Adobe Launch (Tags) or Google Tag Manager Experience implementing data layers, tracking events, and A/B testing hooks directly in front-end code. Understanding of performance and privacy considerations for analytics and tagging. CI/CD & Front-End Tooling Hands-on experience with Adobe Cloud Manager pipelines. Daily use of Git, pull requests, and front-end code reviews. Familiarity with front-end testing (unit, integration, E2E). Experience enforcing front-end quality gates (performance, accessibility, linting). Nice to Have Front-end exposure to AEM Edge Delivery Services.
