Credentialing accuracy, speed, and payer relationships are critical to our growth—this role owns that function end-to-end.Role OverviewWe are seeking a Director of Credentialing Management to lead and scale our provider credentialing and payer enrollment operations. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for payer negotiations, team management, enrollment execution, and continuous process improvement across multiple insurance networks.You will directly impact revenue, provider activation speed, and patient access.Key ResponsibilitiesCredentialing & Enrollment LeadershipOwn end-to-end provider credentialing and recredentialing workflowsManage enrollments with major payers including BCBS, Optum, UnitedHealthcare, and other commercial plansOversee EFT enrollment and payer setup to ensure clean claims and timely reimbursementEnsure providers are accurately reflected in payer directoriesPayer Relations & NegotiationAct as primary point of contact for payer credentialing teamsNegotiate enrollment terms, timelines, and issue resolution with payersEscalate and resolve stalled or denied applications efficientlyTeam ManagementBuild, manage, and mentor a credentialing teamSet clear KPIs, workflows, and accountability standardsTrain team members on payer-specific requirements and best practicesOperational ExcellenceReduce credentialing turnaround time and backlog agingIdentify bottlenecks and implement scalable process improvementsPartner closely with Billing, Provider Ops, and Engineering teamsMaintain compliance with state and federal requirementsRequired Qualifications5+ years of credentialing and payer enrollment experienceProven experience managing and leading credentialing teamsHands-on experience enrolling providers with BCBS, Optum, UnitedHealthcareStrong understanding of EFT enrollment and payer setupExperience negotiating directly with payer representativesDeep knowledge of provider onboarding and enrollment workflowsNice to HaveExperience with mental health / behavioral health credentialingFamiliarity with multi-state provider networksExperience scaling credentialing operations in a fast-growing companyWhat Success Looks LikeProviders go live faster with fewer enrollment errorsCredentialing backlog is controlled and predictableStrong payer relationships with fewer escalationsCredentialing team operates with clarity, speed, and accountabilityWhy Join WellniteHigh-impact leadership role with executive visibilityOpportunity to shape and scale a critical operational functionCompetitive salary based on experienceFully remote, U.S. work hours
