Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage the STA–EE team, including PCBA, wiring harness, power electronics, and system-level STA engineers.Define roles, responsibilities, technical standards, and performance expectations for the STA–EE section.Supplier Enablement, Manufacturing Feasibility & Technical Authority:Lead manufacturing feasibility studies, DFM/DFA reviews, and process risk assessments for EE designs before supplier nomination, tooling, and PPAP.Provide deep technical guidance to suppliers on PCBA manufacturing (SMT/THT), power electronics assembly, testing strategies, burn-in, reliability, and safety controls.Enable suppliers to achieve process capability, yield stability, and repeatable quality, particularly during rapid scale-up.Act as final technical authority for EE supplier readiness across chargers, rectifiers, SMPS, UPS, OV/UV protection modules, sensors, displays, and proprietary electronic assemblies.Quality Compliance & Outcome-Based GovernanceEnsure supplier compliance with IATF 16949, SMPL quality manuals, and applicable electrical, safety, and regulatory standards.Drive robust deployment of APQP, PPAP, DFMEA/PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, SPC, and ECN/change management across EE suppliers.Lead resolution of systemic EE quality issues including field failures, thermal events, protection malfunctions, and reliability degradation using structured problem-solving and Six Sigma methodologies.Govern quality based on field uptime, failure prevention, and lifecycle reliability, not documentation compliance.Wiring Harness, Interconnect & Cost Optimization OversightProvide technical oversight for LV and HV wiring harnesses, including flat and round cables, connectors, terminals, sealing systems, and IP67 / IPxx-rated designs.Drive qualification of alternate connectors, cables, and interconnect technologies to achieve cost reduction, localization, and supply resilience without compromising safety or performance.Cross-Functional Leadership & Early Risk GatekeepingWork closely with Engineering, Sourcing, Manufacturing, Program Management, and Service teams across concept, NPI, pilot builds, and production ramp-up.Act as the technical bridge between system design, supplier execution, and field performance in SMPL’s live swap and charging network.Participate in design, sourcing, and release gates to flag manufacturability, quality, safety, and scalability risks before design freeze and supplier nomination.QualificationsGraduate in Electrical / Electronics Engineering (mandatory).Required Skills & Experience12 - 15 years of experience in STA, Supplier Quality, EE Manufacturing Quality, or Supplier Development roles within automotive, EV, power electronics, or energy infrastructure domains.Strong hands-on expertise in PCBA, power electronics, chargers, rectifiers, SMPS, UPS, OV/UV protection circuits, sensors, displays, and system-level EE integration.Proven experience in manufacturing feasibility, SOR ownership, supplier technical enablement, and quality governance.Deep working knowledge of IATF 16949 and automotive-grade EE quality systems.Six Sigma Black Belt preferred (Green Belt minimum desirable).Demonstrated capability in leading technical teams, mentoring engineers, and influencing cross-functional decisions.Ability to operate decisively in a fast-scaling, field-deployed energy infrastructure environment like SMPL.
