Purpose of the Role: The Instructional Designer will play a crucial role in designing engaging andeffective learning experiences, with a primary focus on video-based instructional content. Reportingdirectly to the Associate Director of Digital Learning, this role will involve collaborating with internalteams, industry experts, and external vendors to ensure the successful implementation of high-qualitydigital learning programs. This role combines learning architecture, instructional design, and digitalmedia production — ideal for professionals who understand how content, pedagogy, and technologyintersect to create transformational learner experiences.The position is based in Hyderabad, India.Key Responsibilities of the Role:1. Instructional Design for Video-Based Learning:• Apply instructional design principles to create innovative and impactful learningexperiences, with a specific emphasis on video-based instructional content.• Collaborate with the Associate Director, learning engineers, and external vendors todesign and develop multimedia learning materials that align with programobjectives.2. Learning Design and Content Management:• Research and identify emerging industry trends to develop new courses.• Establish centralized repositories for reusable materials to enhance scalability andefficiency.• Analyse course content, participant feedback, and faculty ratings to ensurealignment with program goals.• Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs)for consistency.• Utilize pedagogical tools such as action learning and coaching to enhance learningoutcomes.3. Stakeholder Management:• Collaborate with faculty, clients, and Learning & Development (L&D) team membersto ensure program success.• Collaborate with internal teams, including learning engineers and programmanagers, to understand program requirements and learning objectives.• Partner with ISB's Research Centers and Centers of Excellence (CoE) for co-creatingprogram offerings.• Foster long-term client relationships through regular communication and feedbacksessions.4. Faculty Relationship Management:• Assess faculty fitment and assign them accordingly to optimize program delivery.• Lead design meetings, customization calls, and program reviews with internal andexternal faculty.• Collaborate with Program Managers to ensure smooth logistical management ofExecutive Education programs.5. Content Development and Curation:• Develop and curate instructional content, ensuring alignment with learningobjectives and the overall program strategy.• Collaborate with subject matter experts, faculty, and industry partners to gathercontent and create engaging learning modules.6. Learning Architecture & Curriculum Design• Design comprehensive learning architectures for different programs, aligning themwith strategic client and faculty objectives.• Develop curriculum maps, module structures, and assessment strategies groundedin adult learning theory and Bloom’s taxonomy.• Partner with faculty and clients to co-create outcome-driven learning paths thataddress real-world challenges.7. Multimedia Integration:• Integrate multimedia elements, especially video, into instructional materials toenhance the overall learning experience.• Work closely with video content creators and editors to ensure the seamlessincorporation of visual and interactive elements.8. Quality Assurance:• Conduct quality assurance checks on instructional materials, focusing on theeffectiveness of instructional design, clarity, and adherence to program standards.• Iterate and refine content based on feedback and evaluation data.9. Innovation and Continuous Improvement:• Stay abreast of emerging trends and best practices in instructional design, especiallyin the context of video-based learning.• Contribute to the continuous improvement of instructional design processes andpractices within the digital learning team.Minimum Qualifications and Experience:• 7+ years of experience in experience in instructional design with a focus on digital learningand video-based instruction, learning and development expertise, ed-tech industry, strategicconsulting, executive education, corporate learning, online instruction, learner support.• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a relatedfield.• Proficiency in using instructional design tools and multimedia authoring software.• Strong portfolio showcasing previous work in instructional design, particularly with video-based content and curriculum creation.Job Competencies & Requirements:Knowledge / Education:• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a relatedfield is required.• In-depth knowledge of instructional design principles, adult learning theories, and bestpractices in digital learning.• Proficiency in analyzing data and deriving actionable insights to drive decision-making.• Familiarity with emerging trends and technologies in educational technology and onlinelearning.• Client Engagement & Custom Program Design.• Proficiency in using instructional design tools, multimedia authoring software, and learning
