Job Description

HR Compliance GovernanceLead and oversee end-to-end HR compliance framework across the organizationEnsure adherence to all applicable labor laws and statutory regulations (CLRA, Shops & Establishments, Factories Act, PF, ESI, PT, Gratuity, Bonus, TDS, etc.)Interpret regulatory changes and translate them into actionable HR policies and processesStatutory & Regulatory ManagementEnsure timely statutory filings, returns, challans, and registrationsOversee compliance for employee lifecycle events (onboarding, payroll, exits, contractors)Manage compliance for outsourced staff, vendors, and third-party payrollsAudits, Inspections & Risk ManagementLead internal and external HR compliance auditsRepresent the organization during labor inspections and regulatory inquiriesIdentify compliance risks and implement corrective and preventive actionsPolicy & DocumentationDraft, review, and update HR policies, SOPs, and statutory registersEnsure proper maintenance of records, licenses, and employee documentationDrive standardization of compliance practices across locationsStakeholder CollaborationPartner with Legal, Finance, Payroll, HR Ops, and business leadersAdvise senior management on compliance risks and mitigation strategiesCoordinate with consultants, labor authorities, and external auditorsTeam Leadership & Capability BuildingReview team outputs for accuracy and regulatory adherenceLead, mentor, and develop the HR compliance teamBuild compliance awareness across HR and business teamsTechnology & Process ImprovementLeverage HRIS and compliance tools for automation and trackingImprove compliance dashboards, MIS, and reportingDrive process efficiencies and reduce compliance gapsRequired QualificationsMBA degree in HR, Labor Law, or related degree. 10+ years of experience in HR Compliance / Industrial RelationsStrong experience in BFSI / NBFC / Manufacturing / Retail / Large Corporate setupsIn-depth knowledge of labor laws and statutory compliancePreferred QualificationsExperience handling multi-state or pan-India complianceExposure to labor litigation and inspectionsFamiliarity with HRIS and compliance automation toolsKey Skills & CompetenciesStrong knowledge of labor laws and regulatory frameworksRisk assessment and problem-solvingStakeholder influence and leadership communicationAttention to detail and documentation excellenceIntegrity and confidentiality
