Escalader Strategic Solutions is head hunting for Head of Engineering , Design and Technicalfor its Client which is a fast growing start up in to Renewable Energy Solutions.JD DetailsCompany : Fast Growing Start up Offering Renewable Energy SolutionsJob designation : Head of Engineering , Design and Technical (HEDT)Reports To: Founder CEO Business HeadLocation: Mumbai (with travel to AP, TN, MP as needed)Experience: 8–12 years in solar rooftop + utility-scale engineeringQualification: B.Tech/B.E. in Electrical; PV certifications preferred.Position Summary:Lead all design, engineering, and technical decision-making for rooftop (25–1500 kW) and ground-mounted (Megawatt scale) projects across India. Ensure accurate site evaluation, PV Syst modelling, structural assessment, BoQ preparation, and technical coordination with suppliers and EPC partners.Key ResponsibilitiesA.Technical Design & Engineering- Lead all engineering design and technical validation for rooftop and utility-scale (MW scale). - Conduct/oversee site surveys — structural assessment, electrical loading, shading evaluation. - Prepare layouts using CAD/Arka360/Helioscope and run PV Syst generation simulations. - Define system sizing: modules, inverters, cables, protection devices, AC/DC DBs, mounting structures. - Own all BoQ/BoM preparation for proposals and procurement. - Review and approve vendor drawings, EPC drawings, and as-built documentation.B.Technical Due Diligence- Validate module and inverter specifications, certifications, and performance claims. - Evaluate structural viability of roofs, metallurgy, and wind-load compliance. - Provide technical clarity to customers (RWAs, factory heads, corporate clients).C.Delivery & Quality- Support project manager/EPC partner during execution. - Verify compliance to quality standards and statutory norms. - Ensure net-metering/discom requirements are technically met.D.Supplier & EPC Coordination- Work with module/inverter/BESS vendors on product selection and technical interfaces. - Evaluate EPC partners’ capability, past work, and adherence to specifications.Capabilities & Skills Required- Strong command of PVSyst, Arka360/Helioscope, AutoCAD. - Deep understanding of module/inverter technologies (Mono PERC/TOP Con, string/central inverters). - Prior experience with both rooftop and ground-mounted engineering. - Strong commercial awareness (pricing, BoM optimization, value engineering). - Excellent documentation and drawing review skills. - Ability to train junior engineers as team expands.Ideal Candidate Background- 8–12 years in solar design engineering - Must have engineered minimum:oAt least 5–10 MWp rooftopoAt least 10-20 MWp ground-mounted- Should have worked in:oEPC company oroSolar design consultancy oroModule/Inverter OEM technical teams- Strong understanding of Indian state-level discom and net-metering procedures.Must have led end-to-end design cycles independentlyInterested Candidates can apply here directly or send us your profile to jobs@ marking the subject as “ HOE Solar Mumbai"Escalader Strategic Solutions is a Talent Consulting Company .
