This responsible for overseeing day-to-day digital newsroom operations, ensuring high-quality content production, and driving the organisation’s digital editorial strategy. This role requires strong editorial judgment, a deep understanding of digital trends, and the ability to manage teams across content, social media, video, and digital production. The position supports the Executive Editor in shaping the digital brand identity and expanding audience reach across platforms.Key Responsibilities1. Editorial Leadership & Content Strategy- Assist in planning, developing, and implementing the digital editorial strategy. - Oversee digital content creation, including news articles, videos, social media posts, and multimedia formats. - Ensure content accuracy, quality, and adherence to editorial standards. - Identify trending topics, breaking news, and opportunities for digital engagement. - Ensure error-free publishing across all digital platforms.2. Digital Newsroom Management- Lead and supervise digital editorial teams, including reporters, copy editors, content writers, video producers, and social media teams. - Allocate tasks, manage workflow, and ensure timely content delivery. - Coordinate with various bureaus, departments, and field reporters for content inputs.3. Audience Growth & Engagement- Drive audience engagement strategies across website, app, and social media platforms. - Work closely with analytics teams to track performance metrics and optimise content. - Implement SEO best practices to improve search visibility and traffic growth.4. Multimedia & Digital Innovation- Oversee the creation of multimedia content including video stories, reels, explainers, and digital exclusives. - Promote innovative storytelling techniques and new digital formats. - Support the development of special digital series, live coverage, and interactive content.5. Quality Control & Compliance- Maintain high editorial standards, ensuring factual accuracy and legal compliance. - Review and approve key stories before publishing. - Ensure adherence to newsroom ethics, brand guidelines, and regulatory norms.6. Coordination & Stakeholder Management- Collaborate with design, technical, marketing, and sales teams for digital projects. - Support the Executive Editor in strategic planning, resource allocation, and team development. - Represent the digital editorial team in internal meetings when required. - Report to senior officials as and when required regarding progress, targets, and performance benchmarks.7.
