Job Title: Payroll & Bookkeeping SpecialistJob OverviewWe are looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Payroll & Bookkeeping Specialist to manage end-to-end payroll operations and support day-to-day bookkeeping tasks. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience running payroll, maintaining financial records, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accuracy and compliance with company and statutory requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesPayroll ManagementRun end-to-end payroll processing on a weekly/biweekly/monthly basis.Collect, verify, and process employee timesheets, attendance, and salary data.Ensure accurate calculations of wages, overtime, deductions, reimbursements, incentives, and bonuses.Maintain payroll records and employee master data (new hires, terminations, salary changes).Generate and distribute payslips on time.Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (PF, ESIC, PT, TDS, etc. — or US payroll taxes if applicable).Handle payroll queries and resolve discrepancies promptly.Coordinate with HR and Finance to ensure alignment on compensation and employee records.Bookkeeping & AccountingRecord daily financial transactions accurately in the accounting system.Maintain general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and journal entries.Reconcile bank statements, credit cards, vendor accounts, and employee expenses.Prepare basic financial reports, including P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow statements (as required).Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.Track invoices, payments, receivables, and vendor ledgers.Support audits and ensure documentation accuracy.Qualifications & SkillsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field.1–3+ years of experience in payroll processing and bookkeeping (or more depending on your requirement).Strong knowledge of payroll platforms (e.g., ADP, QuickBooks Payroll, Gusto, GreytHR, Zoho Payroll, etc.).Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, Zoho Books, Tally, Xero, or similar).Strong understanding of accounting principles.High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality.Good communication and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and meet payroll deadlines.Preferred Experience (Optional)Experience managing US payroll (if hiring for US clients).Knowledge of GST/TDS filings (India) or US tax compliance.Experience working in staffing, outsourcing, or service-based companies.
