Job OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Firewall Engineer with strong expertise in network security, firewall management, routing, switching, and wireless technologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting firewalls and network infrastructure while ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability. This role requires hands-on technical expertise, effective coordination with vendors, and adherence to IT service management processes.Key ResponsibilitiesFirewall & Network SecurityInstall, configure, and troubleshoot firewalls (Fortigate / Sophos).Manage firewall interfaces, routing, NAT, security policies, and VPNs (SSL & Site-to-Site).Configure and maintain UTM features including Web Filtering, Application Control, and IPS.Knowledge of WAF solutions is an added advantage.Routing, Switching & ConnectivityInstall, configure, and troubleshoot network switches (VLANs, trunking, VLAN interfaces, routing, DHCP, port security, and spanning tree).Strong understanding of routers and routing concepts including static and dynamic routing.Hands-on experience with routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP.Understanding of different types of internet connectivity and related configurations.Wireless & MonitoringInstall, configure, and troubleshoot wireless access points and wireless controllers.Use network monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as Wireshark, Nagios, and SolarWinds.Perform network troubleshooting to identify, isolate, and resolve common and complex network issues.Cloud & InfrastructureKnowledge of public, private, and hybrid cloud networking and security concepts.Exposure to Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS networking environments.Operations & DocumentationSuggest and implement improvements to network performance, capacity, and scalability.Document network configurations, procedures, and best practices in line with industry standards.Maintain and update configuration documents.Maintain IT assets and software licenses/subscriptions.IT Service Management & SupportFamiliarity with ITIL processes such as incident, problem, change, and service request management.Report all incidents, service requests, and changes in the helpdesk tool.Coordinate with vendors for support and issue resolution.Maintain SLAs and perform timely escalations when required.Provide after-hours support during emergencies and occasional weekend maintenance.Required Skills & CompetenciesExcellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.Proven experience as a Network Administrator, Firewall Engineer, or similar role.Strong knowledge of routing, switching, firewall, and wireless network management.Good reporting and documentation skills.Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities.Very good verbal and written communication skills.
