Job Description: Math Assessment Author – Learnosity Items (Grades 3–12)Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Math Assessment Subject Matter Expert (SME) to author high-quality math assessment items, including multiple-choice, graphing, modeling, and justification questions, as well as, write a storyboard for a review interactive. The SME will use AI to help create items and clone items, aligned to a proprietary set of math standards for grades 3 through 12, as well as, assist in writing a review storyboard. This role requires expertise in math curricula, strong assessment writing skills, and proficiency in authoring using AI. Key ResponsibilitiesSubject Matter Expertise:Demonstrate deep knowledge of math content and pedagogy across grades 3–12.Ensure mathematical accuracy and grade-level appropriateness in all authored items.Apply a clear understanding of how students at various grade levels interact with visual mathematical representations.Standards & Guidelines Adherence:Adhere strictly to K12 writing and style guidelines specific to Science content development, as provided by client on LearningMate’s Canvas instance.Quality Assurance (QA) & Revisions:Address and fix any QA issues related to content found on LearningMate’s Canvas instance.Perform content fixes identified by Client in their instance by making revisions in the LearningMate Canvas instance and uploading revised packages via the designated process.Technical Arts Requirement: Collaborate with the team on items that require Technical Arts support (such as complex diagrams or simulations).Create mock-ups of images and diagrams, as well as provide data tables for assessment items as required. Fill necessary trackers for image requirements.Use the provided AI tools to generate assessment items and then review and correct them as needed to align with the state standard and meet the DOK rigor requirements.Item Authoring:Author interactive, standards-aligned assessment items with AI assistance, using pre-set templates and item types (e.g., graphing tools, shading overlays, drag-and-drop).Tag each item to the proprietary standard set.Ensure all items meet project-specific guidelines for format, cognitive rigor (Bloom’s level and DOK level), and interactivity.QualificationsRequired:Strong content knowledge in Math (Grades 3–12), including visual representations of mathematical concepts, graphing, reasoning, and deep conceptual understanding.Demonstrated experience authoring math items and question clones.Familiarity with assessment design principles and age-appropriate difficulty progression.Knowledge of Bloom’s level and DOK levels and the ability to frame questions as per the designated levels.Ability to write clear, concise alt text for visual math items.Bachelor’s degree in K-12 education or mathematics educationProven expertise as a Subject Matter Expert, specifically in High School Maths (Grade 3-9 content level).Strong understanding of Depth of Knowledge (DOK) levels and experience authoring questions at DOK Level 2 and DOK Level 3.Ability to work within the Canvas LMS environment and follow specific content delivery requirements (all assessment items will be delivered in Client’s Canvas Instance).
