We’re holding our door open for you.Come, be a part of the real change!About The RoleThe Project Coordinator for Disaster Response is a critical role responsible for the end-to-end management of disaster-related projects. You will be the central point of contact for our network of partner NGOs, coordinating everything from pre-disaster preparedness and network building to real-time crisis response and post-disaster reporting. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, the ability to perform under pressure, and a deep commitment to making a tangible impact during times of crisis.Key ResponsibilitiesYour duties will be segmented into three key phases of the disaster management cycle:1. Pre-Disaster Preparedness- NGO Network Development: Proactively identify, screen, and onboard NGOs specializing in disaster management across various regions, ensuring robust representation in disaster-prone districts. - Partner Vetting: Conduct initial screening calls to select state-wise nodal NGOs based on their capacity, experience, and operational strength. - Compliance & Due Diligence: Manage the Know Your Customer (KYC) process for new NGO partners and liaise with the compliance team to secure approvals. - Monitoring & Forecasting: Monitor daily weather reports and disaster prediction plans to provide regular updates to internal teams and corporate partners. Forecast potential needs and budgets based on historical data. - Capacity Building: Organize and lead Capacity building calls to train NGO Partners in scaling up disaster relief support during disasters. - Process Improvement: Collaborate with internal teams to refine and improve reporting templates and communication protocols.2. During-Disaster Response & Coordination- Real-time Coordination: Act as the primary liaison with on-ground NGO partners to gather and disseminate real-time situation reports and needs assessments. - Relief Management: Review, verify, and facilitate the approval process for disaster relief requests submitted by NGOs. - Logistics & Operations: Coordinate closely with the internal operations team and external vendors to track the logistics and delivery timelines of relief materials. - Stakeholder Communication: Establish and manage communication channels (e.g., WhatsApp groups) to ensure transparent and efficient information flow between NGOs, corporate partners, and internal teams. - Language Support: Communicate with NGOs and local vendors in their native language to overcome communication barriers and ensure clarity.3. Post-Disaster Project Management & Reporting- Request Processing: Manage and review incoming relief requests through our Kobo form, conduct primary verification calls, and communicate the status of requests to NGOs. - Project Execution: Manage coordination with the Operations team for dispatch and delivery of aid. - NGO Support & Guidance: Conduct capacity-building calls to guide NGOs on distribution protocols, branding guidelines (banners), and reporting requirements. - Reporting & Documentation: Ensure the timely collection of short-form and final distribution reports from NGOs, verifying accuracy and completeness. - Feedback & Improvement: Conduct comprehensive feedback calls with NGOs to gather insights, identify areas for improvement, and share beneficiary impact stories.Qualifications and Skills- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Disaster Management, Development Studies, Project Management, or a related field. - 1-3 years of experience in project coordination, preferably within the NGO sector, disaster management, or corporate CSR. - Excellent organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills with a high level of attention to detail. - Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. - Proficiency in one or more Indian regional languages (e.g., Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu) is highly desirable. - Experience with project management tools and data collection platforms (e.g., KoboToolbox, Google Forms). - Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure in a fast-paced, emergency response environment. - Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to manage relationships with multiple stakeholders. - Proficiency in the MS Office Suite or Google Workspace.What We Offer- A competitive salary and benefits package. - The opportunity to work in a purpose-driven organization and create a significant social impact. - A collaborative and supportive team environment. - Opportunities for professional growth and development in the social impact sector.
