Job Description

Position Summary: We are seeking an accomplished and visionary safety leader to head the Safety function across all sites (operational assets & under construction) PAN India. The incumbent will define and drive the organization’s safety vision, strategy, and culture — ensuring world-class standards of risk management, compliance, and behavioral safety across all projects. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership: - Develop and institutionalize a comprehensive Safety Management System (SMS) aligned with international standards such as ISO 45001. - Lead the organization’s journey toward a zero-incident culture through proactive initiatives, capability building, and continuous improvement. - Advise senior management on emerging risk trends, strategic interventions, and system enhancements to strengthen safety performance. Operational Oversight: - Ensure full compliance with all applicable statutory, environmental, and occupational safety regulations. - Drive conformance to client-mandated safety requirements, internal KPIs, and contractual safety obligations. - Lead internal and external safety audits, regulatory inspections, and facilitate ISO certifications and renewals. Compliance & Reporting: - Ensure full compliance with all local statutory, environmental, and labor safety laws and regulations. - Drive adherence to client-mandated safety guidelines and contractual safety KPIs. - Provide leadership on internal and external safety audits, regulatory inspections, and ISO certifications. Stakeholder Management: - Engage with clients, consultants, contractors, and regulatory authorities on safety matters to ensure alignment and compliance. - Represent the organization in critical project reviews, high-risk assessments, and safety leadership forums. - Mentor and develop the safety workforce, fostering accountability and continuous learning across all levels. Key Requirements: - Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil/Mechanical preferred) with advanced professional qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety (e.G., NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent). - Experience: Minimum 25 years of total experience, with at least 10 years in senior safety leadership roles within large-scale construction or real estate organizations. - Proven experience managing safety across residential, commercial, and high-rise projects. - Deep understanding of construction safety regulations, behavioral safety, and risk management frameworks. - Demonstrated success in incident prevention, measurable safety performance improvement, and safety culture transformation. - Exceptional leadership, communication, and crisis management skills with the ability to influence at all organizational levels. Demonstrated experience in managing safety for large-scale, complex infrastructure or high-rise projects. - Proven track record of incident prevention and strong safety metrics improvement. - Excellent leadership, communication, and crisis management skills. Education - Must be an engineer, preferred Civil Engineering
