As a key member of the Review team, this role upholds the scientific integrity of the Journal and directly supports our mission to advance research through visualization.Responsibilities:Make final publication decisions by evaluating the scientific validity of submitted manuscripts and their suitability for visualizing the protocolReview new submissions to ensure that the manuscript fits the scope of the journal and our publication standardsApply prompt engineering techniques to validate reviewer reports for relevance, completeness, and alignment with journal standards, ensuring consistency while maintaining editorial qualityUse custom AI tools, custom GPTs, and prompt-based workflows to perform pre-QC checks such as identifying formatting issues, missing sections, language clarity, and guideline adherence before peer reviewAccelerate article publication through close collaboration with the Production team to move accepted manuscripts efficiently through the production pipelineEnsure timely editorial workflows by coordinating with peer review and the editorial team to meet review and decision deadlinesRequirements:A Ph.D. in life sciences, chemical sciences, or engineering3+ years of experience with editorial review and submission-to-acceptance workflowsPrior experience in scientific publishing or peer review is preferredExceptional verbal and written communication skills in EnglishStrong scientific and technical vocabularyAttention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality contentWillingness to learn and leverage automation/AI-assisted tools for efficiencyThrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentGenuine interest in communicating scientific methods through visual mediaWhy Join JoVE?Work on projects that leverage cutting‑edge AI to transform visual storytelling.Collaborate with a highly skilled, creative, and diverse team.Be part of a rapidly growing organization with a global footprint.Access opportunities for professional growth and continuous learning in AI‑driven media production.
