Role SummaryThe Robot Engineer will be responsible for programming, troubleshooting, and maintaining automation systems based on Kuka Robot platforms. The engineer will support plant operations, production lines, utility systems, and new automation projects to ensure high equipment uptime and optimal performance.2. Key Responsibilities· Programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting of KUKA industrial robots (KRC4 controllers, SmartPAD).· Develop and modify robot programs using KUKA Robot Language (KRL).· Perform robot integration with PLC systems (Siemens preferred).· Setup and fine-tuning of robot parameters for welding / material handling / palletizing / assembly applications.· Carry out robot calibration, mastering, TCP setup, and tool/base frame configuration.· Diagnose and rectify robot alarms, faults, and communication issues.· Ensure safe robot operation as per safety standards (E-Stop, safety PLC, interlocks, fencing, light curtains).· Improve cycle time, accuracy, and overall robot performance.· Maintain robot backups, documentation, and revision control.· Train operators and maintenance personnel on robot operation and safety.· Provide on-call / breakdown support during production.3. Technical Skills Required:· Hands-on experience with KUKA robots (KR series).· Strong knowledge of KUKA KRL programming.· Experience with KUKA WorkVisual.· Knowledge of Integration with Siemens PLC (S7-1200 / 1500) or equivalent.· Knowledge of fieldbus communication (Profinet / Profibus / Ethernet/IP).· Understanding of robot safety standards (ISO 10218, PL-d / PL-e concepts).· Experience in end-of-arm tooling (EOAT), sensors, and vision systems (preferred).· Basic knowledge of electrical schematics and robot I/O mapping.4. QualificationDiploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation / Automation Engineering.5. Preferred ExperienceExperience in process industries, manufacturing plants, utilities, or machine automation.Exposure to VFDs (Siemens / Innovance, Servo Drives, and sensor technology.Experience in implementing automation upgrades and improvement projects.
