Job DescriptionJob Title: Onshore Wind Project ManagerJob Level: ManagerBusiness Unit / Department: EPC / EPC WindCountry: Japan, Tokyo - Open to expatsReporting to: General Manager, EPC Onshore WindPosition SummaryThe Onshore Wind Project Manager will manage assigned onshore wind projects in Japan from start to finish — ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and in line with agreed quality, safety, CAPEX, and DEVEX targets.This role involves coordinating all internal teams and external stakeholders, including local communities and lenders, to achieve successful project completion. The position is based in Tokyo and will require travel to onshore wind sites across Japan. In addition, the Project Manager will support the General Manager in exploring new business opportunities.Key Responsibilities1. Contract ManagementUnderstand the contract structure and scope of responsibilities for each project.Apply strategic considerations in agreements such as TSA, LTSA, and BoP contracts.Manage contractual complexities with guidance from the legal team.Maintain accurate and up-to-date project information in the management system.Issue all contractually required documents (certificates, reports, NTPs, etc.) in a timely manner.2. Schedule ManagementDevelop detailed project schedules, mapping all activities needed for successful delivery.Track actual progress against planned milestones and address delays promptly.Coordinate with stakeholders to prevent schedule impacts and implement recovery plans when necessary.3. Cost ManagementPrepare project cost and benefit estimates aligned with the schedule.Coordinate RFQ preparation with the Technical Service team.Define and monitor cash flow forecasts, incomes, and expenses.Collaborate with Legal and Finance to ensure contract terms align with cash flow and regulations.Produce financial reports and evaluate economic performance against expectations.4. Risk & Opportunity ManagementIdentify and assess potential risks, along with their likelihood and impact.Implement measures to reduce or eliminate risks.Identify opportunities and define conditions for achievement.5. Technical ManagementHold regular coordination meetings with technical teams and third parties.Ensure construction complies with the approved plan.Lead technical due diligence in cooperation with investment and technical teams for lender submissions.Support procurement on Class NK documentation.6. Communication ManagementEstablish communication protocols, templates, and reporting structures.Lead weekly and monthly site meetings with subcontractors and project teams.Share project progress, resolve open issues, and ensure alignment among stakeholders.7. Stakeholder ManagementMonitor daily site activities and produce required reports with contractors.Report regularly to senior management.Resolve conflicts by leading discussions to reach fair and practical solutions.8. Quality ManagementDefine minimum quality standards with the Quality Department.Ensure technical teams deliver work that meets or exceeds agreed quality benchmarks.9. Other ResponsibilitiesEnsure project completion meets deadlines, budgets, and quality requirements.Raise CTRs (Commercial Task Requests) in collaboration with the Commercial team.Implement NDAs with suppliers related to EPC Wind.Support the General Manager and/or other Project Managers with additional tasks as needed.Qualifications & ExperienceEssential:Bachelor’s degree.4 years’ experience in renewable energy project management.4 years’ EPC experience.Strong understanding of project management principles (preferably PMP or IPMA Level C certified).Knowledge of wind energy and EPC processes.Japanese NOT required
