Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Manipal - an Institution of EminenceDeemed to be University - invites applications from eligible candidates for the position ofLead Data Backup Administrator and BI Developer to be based at its associate teaching hospitals in the Manipal Campus.Lead Data Backup AdministratorQualifications & Experience:Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or a related field.Certification in Veritas NetBackup or related technologies (preferred).5+ Year experience in Data back up Technologies.Key Responsibilities:Configure, monitor, administer and maintain the backup environment, including backup servers, backup storage, network configuration and clientsConfigure backup solutions for required servers.Perform standard and test restores of files, folders, databases and virtual machines.Develop disaster recovery plans and participate in their execution when required.Possess basic knowledge of Windows and Linux OS administration.Utilize basic Bash, Shell and/or PowerShell scripting.Represent the Backup & Restore team in cross-departmental projects.Create, update and maintain documentation; contribute to building the team’s knowledge base.Troubleshoot backup issues related to VMs and flat files.Coordinate with DBAs to resolve backup issues concerning MySQL and Microsoft SQL databases.Maintain accurate documentation of backup and recovery procedures and policies.Collaborate with stakeholders to define data retention and archival policies.Assist in evaluating, selecting and implementing new backup and recovery solutions.Work efficiently under pressure with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Configure daily, weekly and monthly reports from the Analytics server.Configure backup jobs, schedules and upgrade/patch backup servers.Set up alerts for critical backup jobs via the IT Analytics server.Perform regular restore testing for critical server/application backups.Prepare backup reports and dashboards for management review.Conduct regular audits and performance tuning of backup systems.BI DeveloperQualifications & Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.Certification in Power BI is mandatoryMinimum 5 years of experience as a BI Developer or in a similar roleKey Responsibilities:Develop automated reports and dashboards using Power BI and other reporting tools.Demonstrate sound understanding of database concepts, including relational database architecture and multidimensional database design.Design and build data models that convert raw data into meaningful business insightsTranslate business requirements into technical specifications and plan timelines for completion.Utilize Power BI Desktop to create dashboards, KPI scorecards and visual analytics. Implement row-level security (RLS) and understand Power BI’s application security layers.Design and map data models to produce insightful information.
