About the Role: This role focuses on providing end-to-end U.S. tax compliance and advisory support for clients across Fund of Funds, Private Credit, and Private Equity structures.Key Responsibilities:Annual Compliance & Filings: Coordinate and review annual U.S. tax filings (Federal and State) for partnerships, including preparation and validation of Form 1065, Schedule K-1s, and related disclosures.Quarterly Estimates: Calculate and file quarterly estimated tax payments; manage work papers and reconciliations for entities under review.GAAP Audit Support: Support tax provisions and related disclosures for GAAP audits, including deferred tax calculations and footnote documentation.K-1 Tracking & Review: Monitor and track inbound K-1s for Fund of Funds clients; review and analyse tax information to ensure accurate reporting and downstream investor allocations.Tax Playbooks & Equity Structuring: Prepare and maintain equity playbooks and tax memos for deal structuring, focusing on proper characterization of income, waterfall models, and tax-efficient distributions.Notices & Tax Authority Correspondence: Review, escalate, and respond to IRS and state tax authority notices. Coordinate with external tax advisors and legal counsel as required.Tax Form Management: Prepare and update U.S. tax forms (e.g., W-8BEN-E, W-9, Form 8804/8805); ensure documentation is complete, accurate, and regulatory-compliant.Withholding & Exemptions: Analyse and apply appropriate U.S. tax withholding rules (e.g., FDAP, ECI, NRA) for domestic and international investors. Determine exemption eligibility (e.g., treaty benefits, UBTI blockers, portfolio interest) and ensure accurate implementation of withholding requirements. Track, document, and update withholding positions and exemptions in coordination with fund administrators and legal teams.Ontra & Legal Document Updates: Update Ontra (or similar platforms) with key tax terms, filing statuses, withholding and exemption clauses, and compliance checkpoints extracted from legal agreements.Client Communication & Coordination: Act as a key point of contact for client communication related to tax matters. Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including accounting, legal, and fund administration.Key Competencies:6-8 years of experience in U.S. taxation, preferably in asset management, public accounting, or legal/tax advisory firms.Strong knowledge of partnership taxation, Subchapter K, and investment fund structures (FoF, Private Equity, Credit).Hands-on experience with U.S. withholding tax rules and exemption certifications.Familiarity with tax compliance software (e.g., GoSystem, CCH Axcess, OneSource) and tax research tools (e.g., BNA, Checkpoint).Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.CA, CPA, EA, or MST preferred.Excellent in MS Excel to process varied data setsAbility to work effectively under tight deadlinesShould be an independent contributor and his/her work require minimal QC
