Position: Executive/ Senior Executive – Dealer (Fixed Income Markets)Responsible to: Managing DirectorA. Overview of the positionThe position will be responsible for operationalizing Sovereign Global Markets Pvt.Ltd.’s (SGMPL) operational tactics for the ‘Fixed Income Markets’ Business Unit.He/ she will be responsible for executing (if needed), updating and maintainingthe details of transactions and portfolios of clients pertaining to the Fixed IncomeMarkets Business Unit. He/ She will coordinate at the tactical and operationallevels, with the other functions of SGMPL.B. Qualificationo Primary: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Businesso Additional (preferred): Diploma in investment management, financialmarkets or allied domainsC. Experience and Skillso A minimum of 2 year of experience in the Fixed Income Broking industry;o Good knowledge and understanding of Fixed Income products, Fixed Incomemarket and other financial products;o Good understanding of trading platforms and mechanics of trading, withrespect to Fixed Income instruments;o Thorough knowledge of rules, regulations and compliances, pertaining toFixed Income products;o Has to be up to date with industry/ research reports, market news andfinancial trends;o Proven understanding of commercial terms, pertaining to fixed incomeproducts;o Strong problem solving, analytical, organizational and inter-personal skills;o Computer literacy in Microsoft Office, data base management and othertools;o Commitment to work with leadership and cross-functional teams;o Strong oral and written communications skills;o Openness to travel, to meet internal and external business demands.D. Working RelationshipThe position reports to the Managing Director and serves as a member of theoperational team.This position participates with the management team towards operationalizinginitiatives for SGMPL’s ‘Fixed Income Markets’ Business Unit, assuring itsStrictly confidentialJob Descriptionaccountability to all stakeholders and ensuring its effective operations. It also hasworking relationship with other cross-functional teams.E. Key Responsibilitieso Responsible for setting up clients in SGMPL’s database and tools, ensuringaccuracy and completeness of clients’ information.o Undertake and fulfil clients' KYC requirements.o Process investment transactions - punch trades for mapped clients inSGMPL's database as well as on terminals (where applicable).o Trade in money market and bond deals on behalf of clients (whereapplicable), keeping them informed about rates, research information andmarket outlook, order/ trade details and confirmations. Additionally, updateclients regarding Pay-in and Pay-out of funds and securities, margin funding,etc. as required.o Constantly monitor and review the transactions to verify their accuracy andensure that they are in conformance with the rules and regulations and inadherence as per the Compliance framework.o Communicate trading calls and investing ideas to customers.o Monitor client exposure limits and escalate breaches (internally andexternally).o Promote research calls to increase volume and frequency.o Prepare and publish reports and updates on clients' trades, market changesand the corresponding effect on clients' portfolios.o Resolve customer queries, pertaining to transactions and portfolios.o Accompany Sales personnel for customer visits, with a perspective ofincreasing 'depth' in existing relationship with Clients as well generating leadsthrough references.o Keep abreast of the market news, financial trends, and current affairs.o Attend Analyst Meets for improved client servicing.o Ensure timely generation and submission of Management Reports, as andwhen needed.o Coordinate closely with cross-functional teams to meet the objectives of thebusiness unit.F. Other Responsibilitieso Coordinate and collaborate with other functional departments, to facilitatemeeting of business objectives;o Drive initiatives taken by the management, to ensure implementation withinthe Equity Markets business unit;o Ensure that the operational costs are controlled and minimized, for effectiveutilization of the Company’s resources;o Ensure the function’s adherence to SGMPL’s policies and procedures;o Ensure that the organization’s properties and assets are safeguarded.
