Scale up the new molecules (NCEs) from R&D to commercial scale through pilot plant. Observe the demo batches in process engineering / R & D lab, generate the data from lab study and identify critical process parameters to develop the scale up process. Conduct various studies such as reaction kinetics, thermodynamics, RC studies, etc. to develop a robust scale up process. Review / prepare scale up document, coordinate effectively with various cross functional departments like Production, QC, QA with R&D / PELAB to absorb the technology from lab to plant. Analyze the initial scale up batches critically & debottleneck the problems faced in the plant. prepare material, energy balance & effluent data for the scale up batches. Coordinate with other functional groups regarding operability, technical feasibility, engineering design, maintenance, project schedule and documentation requirements. Pilot plant trial for optimization, fine tuning of process and to understand/monitor critical process parameters at pilot scale to avoid failure in commercial scale. Equipment selection, design facility creation with respect to process requirement. Ensure safety systems are well prepared and intact in the plant suiting to the scale up process.
