Location: Khagaria and Munger, Bihar Employment Type: Full Time About the Project: The Bihar State Disaster Management Authority (BSDMA) is implementing capacity-building and community awareness programs aimed at strengthening disaster preparedness and resilience across the state. As part of this initiative, TOT (Training of Trainers)–certified trainers will deliver structured training programs to target groups, including government officials, volunteers, community members, and institutional representatives. Position Overview: The Trainer (TOT Certified) will be responsible for conducting training sessions, workshops, and awareness programs under the BSDMA project framework. The trainer will ensure that all training activities are conducted in line with BSDMA's guidelines and objectives, promoting knowledge and skills related to disaster risk reduction (DRR), emergency response, and community preparedness. Key Responsibilities: Conduct training programs, workshops, and capacity-building sessions as per BSDMA's approved modules. Facilitate Training of Trainers (TOT) and cascading training sessions at district or block levels. Develop and adapt training materials, presentations, and exercises suited to local contexts. Coordinate with district authorities, community organizations, and other stakeholders. Maintain training attendance records, reports, and feedback forms. Prepare post-training reports and submit documentation to project coordinators. Support awareness campaigns and community engagement activities. Ensure inclusion of vulnerable groups in training programs. Travel across assigned districts within Bihar as required. Required Qualifications and Skills: Educational Qualification: Graduate degree (preferably in Disaster Management, Social Work, Geography, Environmental Science, Rural Development, or related fields). Certification: Must be TOT (Training of Trainers) certified, preferably in disaster management or a related field. Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of experience in training, capacity building, or facilitation roles, ideally within government or NGO projects. Strong communication, presentation, and facilitation skills in Hindi and English (knowledge of local dialects is an advantage). Proficiency in report writing and MS Office tools. Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments. Desirable Attributes: Experience working on BSDMA, NDMA, or other government-led disaster management initiatives. Familiarity with disaster preparedness, community resilience, and emergency response frameworks. Demonstrated ability to engage diverse audiences effectively. Note:Qualified and experienced candidates identified through the selection process may be nominated or deputed to attend the Training of Trainers (TOT) program conducted under the BSDMA project.
