As a Mainframe Storage System Engineer at Fiserv, you will be integral in ensuring the availability, reliability, and performance of our storage infrastructure. Your expertise in mainframe storage subsystems will help us meet our data storage and management needs effectively, contributing to our mission of leading and innovating in the fintech space. What you will do: Install, configure, and maintain Mainframe storage subsystems, ensuring compatibility, performance, and reliability. Perform storage capacity planning and provisioning to meet current and future storage requirements. Configure and manage storage management software and utilities to automate storage administration tasks and improve operational efficiency. Monitor storage performance and resource utilization, identifying and resolving bottlenecks and optimizing data placement. Implement and maintain disaster recovery and data replication solutions for Mainframe storage systems. Collaborate with system administrators, database administrators, and application teams to support data backup and recovery operations and data migration projects. Develop and maintain documentation, procedures, and standards for storage administration tasks. Provide technical support and assistance to internal teams and end-users, troubleshooting and resolving storage-related issues. What you will need to have: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, and/or equivalent military experience. 8+ years of experience in Mainframe storage subsystems, architecture, and management. 8+ years of experience with storage management software and utilities such as DFSMS, DFSMSdss, and DFSMSrmm. 8+ years of experience with storage virtualization technologies and concepts, including DASD, VTS, and SAN/NAS storage provisioning. 8+ years of experience with storage networking protocols and technologies, such as FICON, Fibre Channel, and SCSI. What would be great to have: IBM Certified Specialist - Storage Technical V2 or equivalent certification in Mainframe storage administration. 5+ years of experience with Mainframe virtualization technologies such as z/VM and z/Linux. 4+ years of experience utilizing DevOps practices and tools for Mainframe storage administration and automation.
