Purchasing Manager– Job Description Onsite (Office-based) | Monday to Friday Night Shift | 7:00 PM – 4:00 AM Position Summary: The Purchasing Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing the procurement function to ensure the timely acquisition of goods and services that meet organizational standards for cost, quality, and efficiency. This role includes developing global sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships across domestic and international markets, driving cost savings, and ensuring compliance with procurement policies and international trade regulations. The Purchasing Manager collaborates cross-functionally with Operations, Finance, Logistics, and senior leadership to align purchasing strategies with business objectives. Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Strategy Lead and manage the purchasing team, providing guidance, training, and performance management. Develop and implement global procurement strategies to achieve cost savings and process efficiencies. Establish policies and procedures to standardize and optimize procurement operations. Supplier Management & Negotiations Source, evaluate, and develop suppliers worldwide to ensure high-quality, cost-effective, and reliable supply. Negotiate complex contracts, pricing, and delivery terms with international and domestic vendors. Build and maintain strong supplier partnerships while managing performance through KPIs and regular reviews. Operational Excellence Oversee the creation, approval, and tracking of purchase orders, requisitions, and contracts. Ensure alignment of purchasing activities with organizational goals, inventory requirements, and budget constraints. Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with Operations and Warehouse teams to forecast future supply needs. Compliance & Reporting Ensure compliance with corporate procurement policies and international trade regulations (import/export laws, customs, tariffs). Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier databases, and audit-ready documentation. Prepare and present strategic purchasing reports, cost analysis, and market insights to executive management. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or related field. 7+ years of progressive procurement/purchasing experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role. Proven experience with international sourcing, supplier negotiations, and contract management. Strong analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills. Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (SAP, NetSuite, Oracle). Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, global environment. Must Haves: Excellent verbal and written communication in English. Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills with global suppliers. Ability to manage and mentor a team effectively. Adaptability to dynamic environments and international time zones. Demonstrated success in managing multiple projects simultaneously. Preferred Skills: Knowledge of international logistics, customs compliance, and global supply chain dynamics. Experience in supplier risk management and business continuity planning. Familiarity with sustainability initiatives in procurement. Multilingual skills for international vendor management.
