Huhtamaki India - Role Summary The Plant Supply Chain Manager role is critical for managing end-to-end supply chain functions for the factory. This role includes, Production planning and control (PPC) including production scheduling Plant sourcing, includes raw material planning, as well as indirect sourcing at the plant Plant stores (RM and FG warehousing), logistics, and scrap management. Plant Supply Chain data, MIS and projects management. A Plant Supply Chain Manager oversees planning, procurement, production scheduling, inventory, and logistics to ensure efficient, cost-effective manufacturing operations. Roles and Responsibility: 1. Production Planning & Scheduling • Align material availability with the production plan to ensure zero downtime. • Collaborate with production, sales, and central planning teams for demand forecasting and capacity planning. • Monitor daily and weekly production plans and adjust schedules to meet customer delivery commitments. 2. Procurement & Supplier Coordination • Ensure timely procurement of raw materials, packaging materials, and consumables. • Coordinate with central procurement and approved vendors to track purchase orders, delivery timelines, and quality compliance. 3. Inventory Management • Maintain optimal inventory levels of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods. • Monitor stock ageing, non-moving inventory, and initiate timely disposal or consumption plans. • Ensure regular physical stock audits and reconciliation with system records. 4. Warehousing & Logistics • Oversee inbound and outbound logistics to ensure OTIF (On-Time-In-Full) deliveries. • Manage warehouse operations, space utilization, and storage safety. • Ensure proper documentation, dispatch scheduling, and coordination with transporters. 5. Cost & Process Optimization • Identify and implement initiatives to reduce logistics, inventory carrying, and procurement costs. • Drive process improvements using lean, Kaizen, or Six Sigma methodologies. • Track and improve key SCM KPIs like inventory turnover, delivery accuracy, and material yield. 6. Compliance & Safety • Ensure compliance with company policies, EHS norms, and statutory regulations. • Conduct regular training and audits to uphold safety and operational standards. 7. Team Leadership & Development • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing plant SCM team. • Define clear roles, responsibilities, and development plans for the team. • Foster collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement mindset. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): • On-time availability of materials (RM/PM) • Production adherence vs plan • Inventory turnover & stock accuracy • OTIF delivery performance • SCM cost savings achieved • Audit scores & compliance ratings Qualifications & Experience: • Graduate in Engineering / Science / Commerce (MBA or PG in Supply Chain preferred) 12-20 years of relevant experience in supply chain or operations management in a manufacturing setup • Strong understanding of production planning, MRP, logistics, and warehousing practices • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office tools • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills Preferred Industry Background: • Flexible Packaging / FMCG / Chemicals / Pharma / Automotive components Perks and benefits: Best in the industry.
