Huhtamaki India - Role Summary The Exim Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the end-to-end import-export operations of the organization. This includes ensuring compliance with international trade laws and regulations, optimizing supply chain efficiency, and maintaining accurate documentation for smooth customs clearance. The role requires strong knowledge of global trade practices, logistics, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate timely procurement and delivery. Roles and Responsibility: Import-Export Operations Management: • Plan, coordinate, and oversee the transportation of goods across international borders. • Handle end-to-end shipment processes, including booking, tracking, and final delivery. • Ensure timely clearance of shipments and resolve any delays or bottlenecks. Regulatory Compliance: • Ensure adherence to global trade laws, customs regulations, and company policies. • Oversee the preparation and submission of import/export documentation, such as Bills of Lading, Letters of Credit (LC), and shipping declarations. • Stay updated on international trade policies, tariffs, and duties. • Work closely with Legal team, consultants, third party service providers on regulatory matters and take quick decisions. Documentation and Reporting: • Maintain accurate records of all transactions, including invoices, certificates of origin, and compliance documents. • Generate periodic reports to track shipment performance, costs, and regulatory compliance. Vendor and Stakeholder Management: • Liaise with freight forwarders, customs agents, shipping companies, and other logistics partners. • Collaborate with internal teams (procurement, production, finance) to align trade activities with business needs. • Negotiate rates and terms with logistics service providers to optimize costs. Cost and Process Optimization: • Analyse freight, duty, and clearance costs to identify cost-saving opportunities. • Implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of trade operations. Risk Management: • Monitor and mitigate risks related to shipment delays, damages, and compliance issues. • Address disputes and resolve any issues with customs or logistics providers. Sourcing • Interact with category sourcing managers to ensure supply continuity with lowest possible landed cost • Responsible for local Sourcing of non-global category direct Raw Materials and indirect materials • Liaison with CHA for smooth operations of export and import activities. • Statutory compliances, ensure SOD and DOA are adhered in all Sourcing activities. Talent and team development • Builds, develops, and retains a high-performing cross-functional team and supports capability building within the team. • Fosters and drives best-practice sharing and benchmarking to achieve supply chain excellence (service level, cost savings) Company Image • Ensure that a responsible and dynamic image is presented in all dealings with external organizations. • Ensure the company's interests are fully protected by developing relations and representation with industry bodies and contacts. • Ensure that a profession and responsible image is presented in all internal dealings and Huhtamaki Group • Ensure that Huhtamaki code of conduct, values, ethical standards, and legal compliance is followed and adhered to across whole organization and in all activities. Professional experience required for the role • Experience in the wider or global packaging area or any other sector that shows similar challenges like high volume, multiple SKU’s, and competitive markets. • Proven track record of in a supply chain management role related to multi country and market covering role. • Former experience on driving service, process and inventory reduction improvements via lean methods and other continuous improvement initiatives • Used to working in a matrix environment.
