Title: Design Manager – MEP (Data Centre Projects) Department: Engineering Job Type: Full-Time Experience Level: Senior Level (10+ years) Role Summary: The Design Manager – MEP will lead the design and coordination of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems for high-performance data centre projects. The role demands strong expertise in BIM workflows and detailed integration of ELV (Extra Low Voltage) systems with MEP services, ensuring seamless design execution from concept to construction. Key Responsibilities: Design & Coordination • Lead the design development of MEP systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and ELV systems (CCTV, access control, BMS, etc.). • Ensure full integration of ELV systems within the MEP design using BIM tools. • Manage clash detection and resolution using Navisworks or similar platforms. • Oversee the creation and maintenance of coordinated BIM models for all MEP disciplines. Project Management • Develop and implement BIM Execution Plans (BEP) and MEP design standards. • Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and ELV consultants to ensure design alignment. • Review and approve technical submittals, shop drawings, and specifications. • Monitor design progress and ensure timely delivery of documentation. Stakeholder Engagement • Liaise with clients, contractors, and vendors to ensure design intent is met. • Conduct design review meetings and workshops with stakeholders. • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and BIM coordinators. Quality & Compliance • Ensure designs comply with Indian codes (NBC, IS standards) and international standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, IEEE). • Perform quality checks on BIM models and drawings. • Support commissioning and handover documentation. Required Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent. • 10+ years of experience in MEP design and coordination, preferably in data centre or mission-critical projects. • Proficiency in BIM tools: Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD. • Strong understanding of ELV systems and their integration with MEP. • Experience in managing design-build projects and working with multidisciplinary teams. Preferred Skills: • BIM certification (e.g., Autodesk Certified Professional). • Familiarity with ISO 19650 standards. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
