More details are available at In 2014, RTI International established RTI International India (RTI India), wholly owned subsidiary, as a testament to the strategic importance that India holds with regards to the global development agenda.RTI is now working on a project to leverage climate co-benefits for achieving climate adaptations goals in Agricultural, Infrastructure and Water sectors. Project activities are envisaged in three states i.e., Himachal Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh. For implementing this project, RTI is seeking an experienced climate change adaptation expert as a consultant to support various activities as per below scope.This individual will be working with other team members including:1. RTI Team Leader2. Other team membersScope: Activities required to be undertaken are detailed below:Contributing to overall assignment deliverables and project communication with the client.Analyze the state of play in specified sectors: Agriculture, Infrastructure, and water in the mentioned states.Assess the current priorities in the adaptation space aligning with the SAPCC and SDGs, priorities.Study and analyze the existing and potential implementation mechanism, framework for adaptation measures in the above-mentioned sectors and states.Study the state and national policies and strategies active in the region vis a vis adaptation measures keeping a focus on the sectors as mentioned above.Support Stakeholder consultation with nodal departments, NGOs, private sector and other relevant stakeholders to map the key gaps in the implementation at grassroot level (1 in each state)Analyze and evaluate the relevant climate co-benefits approaches which could be implemented in the mentioned states.Review existing Institutional setup and mechanism that delivers and support the activities related to Agriculture, Infrastructure and Water.Development of methodology and framework for the above-mentioned sector for measuring adaptation co-benefitsDevelopment of M&E framework including identifying key indicators/ parameters to measure the climate co-benefits in the sectors: Agriculture, Water and Infrastructure.Support in conducting a few pilots on the methodology and framework developed for above mentioned sectors and states.Developing a roadmap for nationwide adoption of the tested methodologiesQualifications: Post Graduate degree Climate Change studies/ Natural Resource Management / Environmental Engineering / Hydrological Sciences / Geological Sciences / relevant subject15 years of professional experience in the Climate Change / agricultural, water, rural infrastructure and allied sectors, policy advocacy, data analysis and outreach.Professional experience in projects dealing with climate change. Work experience in data analysis and climate co-benefits is highly desirable.Experience in projects in the identified states in project design and managementExperience on Development cooperation (DC) projectsLocated preferably in Tamil Nadu, Delhi NCR, Himachal Pradesh, or Uttar PradeshTravel: Short trips within India to mentioned states will be required. Travel will be undertaken if mutually agreed. Travel cost will be separately covered.
